Green Island Outdoors was created by parents Devon and McKenzie. Green Island is not only the beautiful island they relocated to last year, Vancouver Island, but it is also a significant staple in both their childhoods.
It is the home base Devon grew up on, with many outdoor adventures he had as a child in northern Alberta. It's their very own Green Island located on the Peace River. McKenzie grew up on the North Island of New Zealand with its sprawling green hills.
They are now excited to raise their boys in such a beautiful place.
Last summer, their lives significantly changed when their youngest son started experiencing a sudden onset of seizures, losing mobility and the ability to communicate. They spent 3 months in the hospital, commuting back and forth from home. Over the past 6 months, they created the cooler backpack to assist other families facing similar challenges: a bag that keeps your food cool and has space for essentials, no matter what your day has in store.
Devon and McKenzie's son is now on the medical keto diet for a genetic neurological disease; the cooler bag has become an essential part of their lives. Not only to bring his food, but also to carry snacks for their other son, a laptop, and other daily essentials.
